Electronic Systems Engineering Technician

About the role

The Electronic Systems Engineering Technician will develop and maintain a shared workshop facility used for prototype validation, testing and low‑volume production of automotive electronic systems. The role supports multiple engineering teams and ensures the workshop meets a broad range of technical needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, update and repair low‑voltage wire harnesses and related electromechanical assemblies.
• Build and support prototype parts, test jigs, fixtures and assemblies for electrical, mechanical and thermal validation.
• Conduct hands‑on validation testing, including thermal characterization, functional checks, continuity and isolation testing.
• Provide timely feedback to design engineers on issues discovered during assembly and testing.
• Manage engineering test vehicles, bucks and workshop test setups.
• Design and maintain an efficient workshop layout, storage, waste disposal and organization.
• Perform regular audits to ensure proper use of space and compliance with security, health, safety and confidentiality protocols.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years experience as an industrial or manufacturing technician in an automotive workshop environment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, harness drawings, engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Proven experience building wire harnesses from scratch with high‑quality workmanship.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Required skills

• Interpretation of electrical schematics, harness and engineering drawings, 3D CAD models
• Wire harness assembly, crimping, wire splicing, continuity and isolation testing
• Use of multimeters, high‑voltage test equipment, soldering irons, ultrasonic welding, wire crimping tools, connector pin extraction tools
• Mechanical assembly, machining, 3D printing, laser cutting (preferred)
• Proficiency with MS Office; experience with JIRA and basic coding (preferred)
