Electronics Technician / Electrician (m/f/d)

About the role

Join Tesla Engineering Germany in Freiburg to develop and prototype power‑electronics solutions for energy storage and vehicle charging. You will work hands‑on in a state‑of‑the‑art lab, turning design concepts into functional hardware that supports Tesla’s global sustainable‑energy mission.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Design team in building prototypes for Tesla Energy products.
• Perform incoming PCB inspection, data analysis and day‑to‑day solder reworks.
• Build and modify adapter boards and cable harnesses.
• Assist mechanical build processes, including turning and milling, and prepare documentation for design and manufacturing engineers.
• Read, interpret and create technical drawings and documentation, following precise verbal and written instructions.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes in collaboration with engineering, quality and operations teams.
• Take ownership of laboratory operations and contribute to continuous improvement of lab processes, infrastructure and workflows.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on assembly experience for new products.
• Completed technical training as an electrical or electronics technician or equivalent.
• Good understanding of electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Experience with new‑product‑introduction (NPI) of power‑electronics products or mass production is a plus.
