Embedded Software Engineer – Flight Control Systems & Flight Management

About the role

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join the Flight Control Software department at Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. You will work on safety‑critical real‑time software for flight control computers used in manned and unmanned aircraft such as Eurofighter and Eurodrone.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and test safety‑critical real‑time embedded applications.
• Develop low‑level platform software for Flight Control Computers.
• Conduct software reviews, produce documentation and define software architecture.
• Support planning of software increments and contribute to design definition.
• Analyse stakeholder needs, write and allocate requirements, manage changes and verify implementation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Strong team player with a passion for safety‑critical systems.

Required skills

• Embedded Systems Software Development.

• Processor architectures for safety‑critical computing.
• Hardware/Software interface definition.
• Programming standards and model‑based system design (data‑flow and state‑machine diagrams).
• SCADE and automated code generation.
• Requirements engineering.
• Knowledge of safety‑critical standards such as ED‑12C/DO‑178C and ED‑218.
