Emergency case worker

About the role

MiCT is seeking a freelance Emergency Case Worker for its “MiCT Fellowship for Critical Voices 2026‑2027” programme, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. The role is based in Berlin and runs from August 2026 to June 2027, with up to 120 working days depending on project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and respond to emergency cases arising within media projects and partner organisations.
• Coordinate rapid‑response actions, including documentation, stakeholder communication and resource mobilisation.
• Provide on‑the‑ground support and follow‑up to ensure case resolution and learning for future interventions.
• Report on case progress, outcomes and lessons learned to the MiCT project team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in emergency or crisis management, preferably in media or non‑profit contexts.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus.
• Ability to work independently on a freelance basis and adapt to changing priorities.
