Expert Indirect Taxes – Hybrid (m/f/d)

About the role

As a key member of the Indirect Tax team at BASF, you will combine tax expertise, leadership and innovation to drive operational excellence and prepare the organization for future challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor changes in European tax regulations, assess impact and ensure timely implementation.
• Lead cross‑functional projects, transitions and global roll‑out initiatives supporting the department’s transformation agenda.
• Enhance reporting, risk management and upstream processes to increase efficiency, quality and compliance.
• Contribute to the strategic development of tax‑related systems, processes and concepts.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Tax, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or comparable field.
• Professional qualification such as Certified Tax Advisor, Attorney‑at‑Law or Auditor.
• Several years of relevant professional experience, ideally across different tax, finance or business functions.
• Proven expertise in leading a functional area and driving strategic initiatives.

Required skills

• Strong communication skills in both English and German.
• Leadership and people development experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to engage senior management.

• Gross annual salary: €78,000 – €82,000, plus performance‑based bonus.
