Field Deployment Lead

About the role

Rhoda AI is building generalist intelligent robots and needs a Field Deployment Lead to oversee real‑world customer deployments across Europe. You will own end‑to‑end robot deployment, from site preparation through commissioning, SAT sign‑off and transition to steady‑state operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site preparation, robot installation, system integration and commissioning at new European partner sites.
• Conduct Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), ensure production‑readiness and hand over to steady‑state operations.
• Design and maintain operational runbooks, train contract operators, and manage Tier 2 service partners.
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance, coordinate software/firmware updates and manage on‑site spare‑parts inventory.
• Cover day‑shift during the initial production ramp in Wolfsburg to gain hands‑on expertise before moving to supervisory, multi‑site responsibilities.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics or related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in industrial robotics, commissioning or field engineering.
• Proven track record with FAT/SAT processes and industrial robot deployments.
• Strong documentation habits – you write runbooks, SOPs and hand‑over documents.
• Professional fluency in German and English, and a valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Industrial robotics and electro‑mechanical troubleshooting (multimeter, oscilloscope).
• Experience with VFDs, PLCs, sensors and actuators.
• Linux command‑line proficiency; reading Python scripts, shell commands and basic Docker operations.
• ROS or ROS 2 knowledge (or willingness to learn ROS 2 quickly).
