Field Technician IV – Bolt Product

About the role

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Field Technician IV for its Bolt Product line, based in Mannheim, Germany. The role supports the safe and efficient operation of baffle and clevis bolt equipment during nuclear power plant outages worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of bolt replacement equipment and other specialist field‑service equipment.
• Commissioning and testing of new parts for bolt replacement and specialist equipment.
• Support Product and Development Engineers during testing phases, including parameter development, validation and troubleshooting.
• Train new team members and subcontractors on bolt replacement equipment.
• On‑site operation of bolt replacement equipment and other Westinghouse products in nuclear power plants worldwide.
• Manufacture or modify electrical and mechanical components according to drawings.
• Assemble equipment and tooling.
• Collaborate across departments and internationally with teams in several countries.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience operating and maintaining bolt replacement or similar complex field‑service equipment.
• At least five worldwide assignments as a tool operator during bolt‑replacement jobs (baffle or clevis).
• Basic computer knowledge, including software installation and networking.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrotechnical aptitude.
• Ability to read technical documentation such as mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• English proficiency of at least A2 (B1 preferred).
• Native‑level or C1/C2 proficiency in the local language (German).
• Willingness to travel internationally and work in outage environments.
• Ability to work independently and follow strict nuclear‑industry procedures.
