Field Technician – Managed Internet & Smart Building Tech

About the role

As a Field Technician you will be the on‑site technical expert responsible for planning, installing, and maintaining Wi‑Fi, data and telecommunications infrastructure in multi‑tenant buildings across Germany. Reporting to the Field Manager, you will work from a home base for administrative tasks while travelling to client sites in the Frankfurt, Stuttgart or Mannheim region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support subcontracted installation crews during deployment of Wi‑Fi, data network and telecommunications equipment.
• Conduct pre‑installation surveys, site testing, commissioning and on‑site quality‑assurance checks.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Wi‑Fi, data and telecom equipment, responding to faults and service requests within agreed service levels.
• Attend project meetings, prepare installation documentation (risk assessments, method statements) and contribute to project planning.
• Coordinate with internal support and network‑operations teams, manage stock, consumables and subcontractor requirements.
• Complete required documentation accurately and report health‑and‑safety concerns in line with company policies.

Required profile

• Practical experience in IT, networking or telecoms, including structured‑cabling installation and testing.
• Experience in project involvement and coordination, working with contractors, clients and suppliers.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to travel regularly within the region.
