Finance & Controlling Manager

About the role

Kencana is seeking a Finance & Controlling Manager to join its Hamburg office. This full‑time, on‑site position will lead financial planning, analysis and reporting activities, supporting the company’s rapid expansion in European markets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee finance and controlling operations, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting and compliance with German HGB standards.
• Analyse financial data and prepare investor and banking reporting packages.
• Optimize financial performance through data‑driven insights and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Maintain statutory and regulatory compliance, including the preparation of financial statements.
• Support business growth initiatives by identifying improvement opportunities across departments.

Required profile

• Strong background in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and accounting (HGB).
• Proven experience managing accounting operations and preparing financial statements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field; experience in Big Four, investment banking or management consulting is a plus.
• Fluency in German and English.
• Prior retail experience is considered an advantage.
• Willingness to be based in Hamburg or relocate.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with DATEV.
• Expert‑level Microsoft Excel (modeling, pivot tables, automation).
• Financial modeling and data analysis capabilities.
