Finance Manager – Germany

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead accounting, financial controlling, reporting and compliance for Data4’s German entities. Reporting to Group Finance, the role supports the company’s expansion in Germany, overseeing large‑scale CAPEX projects and infrastructure development.

Key responsibilities

• Structure and supervise accounting activities across German entities, ensuring accurate revenue, OPEX, CAPEX, payroll and third‑party transaction entries.
• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closes under local GAAP and IFRS, and coordinate audits, tax compliance and statutory reporting.
• Monitor budget execution, produce forecasts (P&L, cash) and deliver management reporting and performance dashboards.
• Identify cost‑optimisation opportunities, improve cash management and support CAPEX investment appraisal.
• Ensure compliance with Group policies, contribute to SOX controls and promote strong internal financial controls.
• Lead and develop the local finance team, driving process improvement and finance transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
• 8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, financial control or audit within a multinational or multi‑entity environment.
• Experience in CAPEX‑intensive sectors such as data centres, infrastructure or industrial projects is highly desirable.
• Previous team‑leadership or mentoring experience is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong accounting and financial reporting expertise, including tax and financial control.
• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS and local German GAAP.
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management proficiency.
• Experience supporting capital investment (CAPEX) projects.
• Familiarity with ERP and FP&A systems (e.g., Sage X3, OneStream).
• Advanced Excel skills.
