Finance Manager

About the role

Almedia is looking for a Finance Manager to take full ownership of in‑house accounting for its international entities. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end bookkeeping, VAT compliance and group reporting in a fast‑growing, scale‑up environment.

Key responsibilities

• Run complete bookkeeping for German entities in DATEV Rechnungswesen (AR/AP, bank reconciliation, accruals/deferrals).
• Lead migration of accounting data and workflows from external providers into a clean DATEV environment.
• Consolidate data across entities, manage intercompany billing and enforce a consistent chart of accounts.
• Set up and integrate finance tools such as Yokoy, ensuring correct tax and account mappings and automating procure‑to‑pay and expense processes.
• Produce timely financial reports, flag risks, and coordinate with external tax advisors to keep filings and audits on track.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing German entity bookkeeping within DATEV for a GmbH or similar.
• Hands‑on knowledge of HGB, German VAT rules and preparation of VAT returns.
• Successful track record of transitioning from an external bookkeeper to an in‑house function, including data migration and SOP creation.
• Ability to improve close speed and data quality through root‑cause analysis and automation.
