Food Category Engineer – Innovation & Industrialization

About the role

As a Food Category Engineer at Nestlé's Product Technology Centre Food in Singen, you will lead the creation, deployment and maintenance of category engineering knowledge for state‑of‑the‑art and future manufacturing setups. You will work at the intersection of research, development and industrial production to deliver tasty, balanced meals with high freshness perception and convenience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and industrialize technologies and equipment concepts for food product lines.
• Collaborate with engineering networks in Operations and R&D to fast‑track deployment modules and scale up innovations.
• Lead technology and engineering mastery, setting strategic priorities with R&D Category Leads.
• Implement standards, improve processes, performance, machine safety and quality through benchmarking, training and network meetings.
• Work with project managers and engineers to install equipment in factories and markets, monitoring potential issues.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering with several years of experience in R&D and/or industrial engineering operations.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing technologies for food manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities for complex, business‑impacting challenges.
• Engineering management experience in a factory environment, preferably with project management responsibilities.
