Freelance Construction Manager – Interior Fit‑Out (5‑Month Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a freelance Construction Manager to lead a major interior fit‑out project in Berlin. This hands‑on, site‑based position runs for five months and requires immediate start, overseeing subcontractors and ensuring safe, high‑quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day site activities and manage all subcontractors.
• Supervise fit‑out trades such as drywall, ceilings, flooring, painting, joinery and finishing works.
• Monitor progress, quality, costs and programme milestones, updating construction schedules.
• Review variations, measurements and subcontractor accounts.
• Conduct site inspections, snagging and quality checks.
• Organise and lead meetings with client, consultants and subcontractors.
• Manage project handover, close‑out activities and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager, Site Manager or Project Manager on commercial interior fit‑out projects.
• Track record of delivering turnkey fit‑out projects on time and within budget.
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades on site.
• Strong understanding of construction programmes, quality control and commercial management.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, capable of working independently.

Required skills

• Knowledge of VOB regulations.
• Familiarity with HOAI fee structures.
