Freelance Construction Site Manager

About the role

Our client is delivering a new specialty chemicals processing facility in Cologne, Germany. They are looking for an experienced Freelance Construction Site Manager to lead on‑site construction activities, ensuring safety, quality and schedule adherence throughout the 12‑month project.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day construction work across multiple workstreams and coordinate subcontractors, vendors and site supervisors.
• Ensure all works comply with project specifications, German construction regulations, HSE standards and local laws.
• Monitor project schedules, identify risks to completion dates and implement mitigation measures.
• Liaise with the Project Director, engineering teams, HSE personnel and client representatives.
• Track progress, prepare regular status reports and maintain accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of construction management experience on industrial projects.
• Proven background managing processing plants, petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical or manufacturing facilities.
• Professional fluency in English and German.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
