Freelance English Lecturer for International Studienkolleg

About the role

We are looking for a freelance English Lecturer to join the Prep4University department of CBS International Business School. You will teach English as a foreign language to international students preparing for German higher education, helping them develop the language proficiency and academic skills required for success.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver English language courses to Studienkolleg students, following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
• Prepare, conduct and grade examinations, including the final assessment (Feststellungsprüfung).
• Design engaging learning materials for both digital and hybrid classroom settings.
• Provide individual support to small class groups to address specific learning needs.

Required profile

• Master’s degree, preferably in English Studies, TEFL or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of the CEFR and its application in language teaching.
• Proven pedagogical competence with several years of experience teaching English as a foreign language, ideally at the higher‑education level.
• Ability to work in an international, intercultural environment and collaborate with a diverse team.
• Familiarity with the German education system is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Experience with digital teaching tools and willingness to teach in hybrid formats.
