Freelance Project Manager – Bridge Engineering (Germany)

About the role

We are a leading engineering consultancy delivering major rail and infrastructure projects across Germany. We are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to lead bridge and structural engineering assignments for our growing portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of bridge and structural engineering projects within the rail and infrastructure sector.
• Manage and coordinate a small multidisciplinary project team.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Deutsche Bahn requirements and German regulations.
• Facilitate communication between technical and non‑technical parties.
• Support project governance, reporting, and decision‑making throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Degree in civil or structural engineering (M.Eng., M.Sc., Dipl.-Ing., Dr.-Ing.).
• Minimum 7 years of project management experience in infrastructure, civil engineering, transportation, or bridge projects.
• Previous experience on Deutsche Bahn projects.
• Fluent German (C1/C2) and strong organisational capabilities.
