Freight Cost Management Officer (Hybrid)

About the role

Join the Accounts Payable & Freight Cost Management team at BASF to ensure professional freight invoice handling across the EMEA region. You will work with internal stakeholders such as Logistics, Procurement and service recipients, supporting accurate financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Check, process and post incoming freight invoices, clarifying any differences.
• Calculate freight costs, reconcile accounts and manage relationships with key business partners.
• Continuously improve financial processes and contribute to automation initiatives.
• Support ERP implementation projects (Spark for Agricultural Solutions and Mercury for Core Chemicals).
• Utilise SAP and MS Office for daily tasks.

Required profile

• Commercial training (e.g., freight forwarding, logistics services clerk, wholesale and foreign trade clerk) or business studies focused on logistics or finance.
• Initial experience in a finance department of a forwarding company is ideal.
• Knowledge of accounting principles.
• Fluent in English and German.
