Full‑Stack Software Developer for Chemotion ELN

About the role

We are expanding our software development team in Karlsruhe and are looking for a motivated full‑stack developer to enhance the Chemotion ELN and LabIMotion ELN platforms. The role contributes to national research infrastructures such as the ETOS Future Cluster and the NFDI, enabling researchers across Germany to manage and reuse data more effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Extend and maintain Chemotion ELN and LabIMotion ELN through full‑stack development.
• Manage source code using GitHub and apply AI‑assisted tools to improve development efficiency.
• Interact with end‑users to gather feedback, identify weaknesses, and implement improvements.
• Develop and deploy bug fixes, feature enhancements, and performance optimisations.
• Document code and user guides on dedicated documentation platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent vocational training as an IT specialist.
• Proven experience in writing well‑structured, high‑performance code for both backend and frontend.
• Strong teamwork, communication skills and very good English proficiency.
