Grid Connection Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Grid Connection Engineer to support the delivery and assessment of utility‑scale renewable energy projects across Germany. The role involves working on onshore wind, solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) developments, ensuring compliance with German grid regulations from concept through operation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct grid connection assessments and technical reviews for large‑scale renewable projects.
• Evaluate grid connection requirements, prepare technical documentation and ensure alignment with German grid codes.
• Collaborate with transmission system operators (TSOs), distribution system operators (DSOs), project developers and engineering teams.
• Review and assess grid studies, connection applications and technical submissions.
• Provide expertise on grid integration challenges and optimise project designs.
• Support clients throughout development, permitting, construction and operational phases.

Required profile

• Proven experience in grid connection engineering within the renewable energy sector.
• Strong understanding of the German electricity network, grid codes and connection processes.
• Experience working with TSOs, DSOs, grid operators and technical consultants.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
