Group Accountant – Hybrid, Full‑time in Korschenbroich, Germany

About the role

OQEMA, one of Europe’s top independent chemical distributors, is seeking a Group Accountant to join its finance team in Korschenbroich. You will work in a hybrid setting, supporting the preparation and consolidation of financial statements under German GAAP and collaborating with international subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements under HGB, including capital, debt and expense consolidation.
• Develop and maintain consolidation processes in Lucanet, ensuring data quality.
• Collaborate with English‑speaking subsidiaries on intercompany reconciliations and reporting.
• Assist tax advisors and auditors during the annual audit.
• Prepare and analyse financial KPIs for internal group reporting, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Support multi‑year planning and budget consolidation at group level.
• Contribute to international tax topics such as transfer pricing and intercompany pricing.
• Own special projects and ad‑hoc finance & accounting tasks.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Accounting, or a commercial apprenticeship with a Certified Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter IHK) or Tax Assistant qualification.
• 1–3 years of experience in financial accounting, year‑end closing or group reporting under HGB.
• Basic understanding of consolidation or group structures; willingness to learn is essential.
• Experience in an international environment or working in English is a plus.
• Structured, detail‑oriented and proactive team player.
• Fluent German and good English for daily communication with subsidiaries.
