Head of Accounting & Tax

About the role

As Head of Accounting & Tax you will own the entire accounting function of the Roadsurfer Group and lead the team through a period of significant change. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will shape processes, ensure audit‑proof reporting and drive the SAP implementation as the central ERP system.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the accounting function and deliver reliable, timely, audit‑proof monthly financial reporting.
• Prepare annual and group financial statements under German GAAP (HGB) together with group accountants.
• Manage external service providers for accounting, VAT, income tax and local audits across Europe and North America.
• Analyze new business transactions and ensure correct accounting treatment.
• Ensure tax compliance for German entities in collaboration with external tax advisors.
• Build a scalable, data‑driven accounting function ready for AI‑native finance.
• Play a central role in the company‑wide SAP implementation from design to go‑live and stabilization.
• Act as the main contact for auditors, tax advisors and authorities during the annual audit process.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of relevant accounting experience, including responsibility for group financial statements under German GAAP (HGB) and proven leadership of an accounting team.
• Strong accounting qualification (degree in finance/accounting or comparable certification).
• Good understanding of German tax law.
• Fluent in English and German.
