Head of Assurance & Internal Controls

About the role

The Head of Assurance & Internal Controls provides strategic leadership for FSC’s global assurance, governance and internal‑control framework. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures financial integrity, risk awareness and operational excellence across more than 80 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the global Assurance & Internal Controls function, managing a distributed team.
• Define and execute an enterprise‑wide assurance strategy and governance model.
• Own and continuously evolve the internal‑control framework to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Establish organization‑wide control standards, methodologies and accountability for control ownership and testing.
• Provide independent oversight on governance, risk, controls and financial stewardship.
• Advise executive leadership and contribute to Board and Audit Committee discussions.
• Lead reviews of critical end‑to‑end processes (P2P, O2C, R2R, H2R) to identify risks and inefficiencies.
• Drive global remediation initiatives and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Serve as primary interface for internal and external auditors and assurance providers.
• Lead assurance for ERP systems, financial applications, data governance, control automation and digital transformation.
• Build cross‑functional partnerships and champion global governance initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in assurance, internal controls, governance and risk management.
• Proven ability to lead large, distributed teams and influence senior executives.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with boards, audit committees and global stakeholders.
