Head of Sourcing – Indirect Materials

About the role

Döhler is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to head the sourcing of indirect materials such as packaging and services across its global operations. The role will shape and execute a worldwide sourcing strategy that balances cost, quality, and supply continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a global sourcing strategy for all indirect materials.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering innovation, efficiency and sustainability.
• Identify and drive cost‑saving initiatives, negotiate contracts and secure favorable terms.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing decisions with product development and production goals.
• Proactively assess supply risks and create mitigation plans to ensure continuity.
• Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies and sustainability practices relevant to packaging and services.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing sourcing team.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of procurement and sourcing experience, preferably in indirect materials for a global organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Proven leadership experience managing high‑performing teams.
• Demonstrated ability to create sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings and supplier innovation.
• Strong negotiation and contract management expertise.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑influence skills.
