Hostel Receptionist (m/f/d) – Guest Relations & F&B

About the role

Join Wombat’s vibrant hostel community as a Receptionist, where you will be the first point of contact for guests and help create a welcoming, safe, and memorable stay. You will combine front‑desk duties with food‑and‑beverage service, ensuring high standards of hospitality and cleanliness.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main guest contact, answer questions, resolve complaints with empathy.
• Manage efficient check‑in and check‑out processes.
• Prepare and serve drinks, coffee, and snacks while maintaining hygiene standards.
• Inform guests about in‑house services, events, and city recommendations.
• Handle cash transactions and perform end‑of‑day cash‑ups.
• Perform daily administrative tasks related to reception workflows.
• Serve as the initial liaison for partners, suppliers, neighbours, and authorities.
• Enforce house rules and proactively address any issues.

Required profile

• Passion for hospitality and creating a friendly atmosphere.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on hygiene and cleanliness.
• Resilient under busy or stressful conditions.
• Team‑player who supports colleagues across departments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office tools and property management systems.
