About the role

The Martian Mindset Cluster of Excellence at the University of Bremen invites outstanding scholars to join as independent postdoctoral researchers. The positions are full‑time, fixed‑term (up to 36 months) and aim to develop bold, interdisciplinary research projects that address sustainability challenges inspired by a Martian resource‑scarcity paradigm.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute original research proposals that push the boundaries of knowledge across disciplines.
• Conduct high‑quality, interdisciplinary research within the Martian Mindset framework.
• Publish findings in reputable journals and present at international conferences.
• Collaborate with a diverse, international team of scientists and contribute to the Cluster’s strategic goals.

Required profile

• Completed PhD (or will have completed it before the start date).
• Dynamic, open‑minded personality with a strong drive for independent research.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in scientific work.
• Willingness to work onsite at the University of Bremen.
