Information Security Engineer (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Information Security Engineer to join a leading European space and aerospace technology group in Bremen. This hybrid position (40% remote, 60% on‑site) offers the chance to shape security architectures for cutting‑edge satellite systems and large‑scale space programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust security concepts and architectures for space missions and ground segment projects.
• Define, deploy, and monitor technical and organisational controls in line with ISO 27001, BSI IT‑Grundschutz and project‑specific regulations.
• Act as the primary cybersecurity consultant for cross‑functional software, systems and hardware teams.
• Conduct security assessments, identify vulnerabilities and define mitigation pathways.
• Harden Linux and Windows environments and automate secure configurations using Ansible, PowerShell and Python.
• Participate in research projects on advanced cryptography, resilient infrastructures and secure satellite communications.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity, information‑security management or systems‑security engineering.
• Professional proficiency in English and German for documentation and regulatory workflows.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and documentation abilities.

Required skills

• ISO 27001 and BSI IT‑Grundschutz standards.
• Linux and/or Windows system administration.
• Automation and scripting with Ansible, PowerShell and Python.
