Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Air Planner

About the role

The Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Air Planner supports the Air Operations Cell of the Current Operations Division (J33) at U.S. Africa Command. This position monitors and coordinates airborne ISR activities across the USAFRICOM Area of Responsibility and adjacent regions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor airborne ISR missions and ensure alignment with operational objectives.
• Coordinate ISR requirements from component commands and Joint Task Forces supporting USAFRICOM.
• Develop strategic and operational capabilities for collection management tasks.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of inter‑service relationships, DoD combat support agencies, and the intelligence community.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Eligibility for Country/Theater Clearance and compliance with DoD vaccination and medical requirements.
• Willingness to work in emergency‑essential and mission‑essential conditions, including potential worldwide deployment.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment drug screening, background investigation, and physical examination.
