Intern - Project Management

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking a Project Management Intern for its Global Water Operators’ Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA) Secretariat in Bonn. The six‑month hybrid internship offers a dynamic learning environment focused on water and sanitation operators, capacity development, and sustainable urban services.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, implementation and reporting on GWOPA projects.
• Develop and manage knowledge resources and communities of practice.
• Assist in preparing global outreach and learning events, including the GWOPA Assembly and World Urban Forum 2026.
• Update the GWOPA Data Portal with monitoring data, observatory information and organization profiles.
• Contribute to project budgeting and financial management tasks.
• Draft concept papers, background documents, position papers and project briefs for resource mobilisation.
• Perform data management and analysis as required.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant programme (e.g., urban planning, environmental studies, international development).
• Ability to work under the supervision of GWOPA professional staff and the Officer‑in‑Charge.
• Strong interest in water and sanitation services and sustainable urban development.
