Junior Backend Developer – People Advisory Services

About the role

Join EY’s People Advisory Services team as a Junior Backend Developer. You will work on compliance‑related software for short‑term business travel, building and enhancing cloud‑native backend services for multinational clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and evolve Node.js backend services on SAP Business Technology Platform using the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs within a modular, service‑oriented architecture.
• Modernise existing codebases to improve maintainability, extensibility and sustainability.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure high code quality.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver end‑to‑end features.
• Support build, deployment and runtime processes in a cloud environment and gradually take ownership of backend components.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Understanding of RESTful API design and backend integration.
• Experience with Git version control and basic CI/CD concepts.
• Ability to work in a Linux/Unix (WSL) environment.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Strong willingness to learn and take ownership in a cloud‑focused setting.
