Junior Controller – Product Costing (Hybrid)

About the role

As a Junior Controller Product Costing you will join the Business Reporting Chemicals II team in Berlin. You will develop expertise in product costing, inventory valuation and SAP processes while supporting month‑end and year‑end closing activities across multiple locations, including BASF’s largest integrated site in Ludwigshafen.

Key responsibilities

• Support month‑end and year‑end closing, including product costing runs and inventory valuation.
• Analyze, validate and monitor standard and actual product costs in SAP.
• Investigate cost deviations, perform root‑cause analyses and collaborate with manufacturing, accounting and controlling teams.
• Review, maintain and validate costing‑relevant master data to ensure high data quality.
• Provide operational support for product costing processes and contribute to process improvements, harmonisation and automation projects.
• Participate in projects implementing SAP S/4HANA.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• First experience in accounting, cost accounting, inventory accounting or controlling gained through internships or early‑career roles.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, financial closing processes and inventory valuation.
• Fluent German communication skills; additional European languages are a plus.
