Junior Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d)

About the role

RobCo is building autonomous industrial robots and needs a junior mechanical engineer to own mechanical development from concept to validation, ensuring high performance, reliability and manufacturability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical design and modular robotic components and assemblies from initial concept through production readiness.
• Create robust designs that balance functionality, manufacturability, and cost‑effectiveness.
• Drive prototyping, assembly, and integration of mechanical systems.
• Plan and conduct mechanical testing and validation to verify performance, durability, and safety.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes of issues, and drive design improvements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Electrical, Software, Production) to ensure seamless system integration.
• Prepare high‑quality technical documentation for designs, specifications, and test reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Several years of professional experience in mechanical engineering with hands‑on design and testing, preferably in robotics or automation.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred; Inventor, CATIA or equivalent acceptable).
• Proven track record in designing, building, and validating complex mechanical assemblies.
• Solid understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes.
• Hands‑on prototyping and assembly skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical documentation and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Fluent English; German proficiency is a plus.
