Lab Technician – DNA Library Preparation & Sequencing

About the role

Plasmidsaurus is expanding its genomics services and needs a Lab Technician to support DNA library preparation and sequencing operations. You will work on‑site in Cologne, handling samples from receipt through data delivery, ensuring fast turnaround and high data quality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hands‑on processing of incoming samples, including accessioning, quality control, library preparation and pooling.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Oxford Nanopore sequencing instruments, implementing preventative‑maintenance schedules.
• Review sequencing output, conduct basic quality‑control checks and perform initial data analysis.
• Document all procedures accurately and follow safety and compliance protocols.
• Coordinate with the global logistics team and partners to manage shipping consumables and ensure timely delivery.

Required profile

• Fluent English communication skills.
• Minimum 2 + years of hands‑on laboratory experience in sequencing workflows.
• Strong focus on rapid turnaround while maintaining the highest data quality.
