Laboratory Technician (m/f/d)

About the role

Discovery Life Sciences is seeking a meticulous Laboratory Technician to join its Kassel site. You will work in a regulated GCP environment, supporting biospecimen processing and assay development for cutting‑edge cell and gene therapy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate basic laboratory equipment such as PCR machines and tabletop centrifuges.
• Follow and execute protocols, review raw data for quality, and perform basic statistical evaluation using Microsoft Excel.
• Maintain an accurate laboratory notebook and record work in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Participate in general lab upkeep, including cleaning freezers, shared spaces, and stocking reagents.
• Assist in the validation and establishment of new assays and devices.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training (BTA/CTA/MTLA) or a bachelor’s degree in life sciences.
• At least 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Strong attention to detail and high‑quality documentation.
• Ability to understand and consistently apply protocols.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.

Required skills

• Operation of PCR machines and tabletop centrifuges.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for basic statistics.
• Experience with LIMS for data entry and tracking.
• Skilled in pipetting, solution preparation, and buffer formulation.
• Familiarity with DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and next‑generation sequencing (NGS) techniques.
