Lead AI Data & Analytics Engineer

About the role

Goodgame Studios, a Hamburg-based publisher of live-service strategy games, is hiring a fully remote Lead AI Data & Analytics Engineer. The role builds the data foundation of a new mobile game from scratch, with no data warehouse yet. It is for someone who already uses agentic workflows (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, custom agents, MCP servers, skills, planning loops, review gates) as a core part of their work, and who acts as the architect, reviewer and final owner of correctness.

Key responsibilities

• Build the end-to-end gameplay analytics ecosystem, defining tracking, storage, processing and reporting architecture.
• Own data correctness and make judgement calls when quality checks flag anomalies.
• Build the semantic layer that turns raw gameplay data into validated gameplay and business concepts.
• Develop AI-driven automated reporting, dashboards and insight-generation workflows, and evaluate AI tools and agents that improve analytics speed, reliability and depth.
• Review AI-generated code and analytics on critical paths before they reach production.
• Generate product intelligence: identify opportunities, risks, anomalies and trends, and give data-driven recommendations to product, balancing, design and leadership teams.
• Help set standards for tooling, review processes and quality gates so the wider engineering organization can adopt agentic practices.

Required profile

• Built an analytics or data platform from scratch at least once, and several years of experience building analytics or data-driven systems in production, ideally in gaming or mobile.
• Analytics experience on free-to-play mobile games, ideally including a launch and UA scaling.
• AI-first approach: hands-on experience with agentic workflows and AI coding tools, with shipped examples used for real decisions.
• Comfortable discussing prompt structure, multi-agent workflows, intervention points, MCP servers and reviewing AI-generated code without becoming a bottleneck.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, and experience designing scalable data architectures, pipelines, data models, dashboards and automated insight-generation systems.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and storage; strong analytical decomposition and data-quality instincts.
• Ability to work independently and drive technical initiatives from concept to production; excellent English; passion for gaming.

Nice to have

• Depth in monetization, economy and LiveOps analytics.
• Event-driven and streaming data architectures, real-time telemetry or anti-cheat/anomaly-detection systems.
• Published or shared work on agentic workflows.
