Legal Counsel (Corporate & Regulatory)

About the role

Universal Investment is seeking a motivated Legal Counsel to join its Group Corporate Legal team. You will work on a wide range of corporate and regulatory matters, supporting the company’s fund services platform across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on corporate and regulatory law issues.
• Prepare, review and maintain corporate documentation and contracts such as board resolutions, mandates, powers of attorney and service level agreements.
• Support governance of group entities, coordinating management and supervisory board matters.
• Assist in M&A transactions and manage group insurance policies and related claims.
• Monitor compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct legal assessments for group structures, corporate transactions and internal projects.
• Collaborate with internal functions (Corporate Secretary, Compliance, Risk Management, Finance) and external advisors.

Required profile

• Fully qualified lawyer with a focus on corporate law and financial regulation.
• 1–3 years of professional experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department within the financial sector.
• Solid knowledge of corporate and regulatory law; insurance law is a plus.
• Familiarity with governance structures in Germany and Luxembourg.
• Strong analytical abilities, structured work style, high discretion and professionalism.
• Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken.
