Legal Counsel

About the role

Omni Bridgeway is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its EMEA litigation investment team in Cologne. The role focuses on managing and evaluating funded cases across German‑speaking jurisdictions and supporting the underwriting of new litigation funding opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide ongoing management, review and oversight of the existing portfolio of funded cases in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
• Conduct first‑level assessments of potential litigation funding opportunities in collaboration with lawyers and claimants.
• Perform legal and factual due diligence on prospective cases to support underwriting decisions.
• Analyse relevant legal issues and prepare concise reports for senior investment stakeholders.
• Collaborate with global Omni Bridgeway colleagues on investment opportunities and internal matters.

Required profile

• Law degree with admission to practice (preferably in Germany).
• Minimum two years post‑qualification litigation experience, specifically in German litigation.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Strong knowledge of German courts and litigation processes.
• Willingness to develop an understanding of financial reporting and to analyse corporate and trust structures.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial attitude.
