Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Axon is looking for a hands‑on Maintenance Engineer to ensure the safe operation, reliability and regulatory compliance of its German facilities. Working under local management and in coordination with an external occupational safety specialist, you will be the primary point of contact for day‑to‑day maintenance and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) matters.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and general building systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections, log defects and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Manage relationships with local contractors, supervise work under the permit‑to‑work system, and ensure statutory inspections of HVAC, fire, electrical and lift systems comply with DGUV and BetrSichV.
• Oversee receipt, storage and distribution of consumables, spare parts and maintenance materials.
• Support space planning, internal moves, minor refurbishments and coordinate fit‑out projects.
• Monitor utilities consumption and raise alerts for abnormal usage.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, contractor visits and inspections in the facilities management system.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training (Berufsausbildung) in a relevant trade such as electrical engineering, HVAC, building services or mechatronics (Gesellenbrief or equivalent).
• Valid first‑aid certificate (Ersthelfer) or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience with German and EU legislation, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
