Manager, Customer Engineering – Semiconductor Fab

About the role

We are looking for a Manager, Customer Engineering to build and lead a high‑performing engineering organization that will support the launch and ramp‑up of a major semiconductor fab in Dresden. The role will drive operational excellence, develop talent and ensure the long‑term success of our strategic customer.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, coach and develop a team of Customer Engineers and technical professionals, fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Lead service operations through equipment installation, qualification, production ramp‑up and high‑volume manufacturing phases.
• Own performance metrics such as safety, quality, productivity, equipment availability and customer satisfaction.
• Partner with the strategic semiconductor customer, building trusted relationships and driving proactive problem solving.
• Collaborate with Product Support, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Global Services to resolve complex technical challenges.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
• 5+ years experience in semiconductor equipment service, field service or customer engineering.
• 2+ years people‑leadership experience with a proven record of building high‑performing teams.
• Hands‑on knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, preferably front‑end tools.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel up to 20% internationally.
