Manager, Local Operations

About the role

As the Head of Merchant Operations for Germany, you will lead the end‑to‑end merchant lifecycle for Uber's marketplace in Berlin. You will shape strategy, drive growth, and ensure compliance across a national portfolio of merchants while building a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and scale processes that improve the merchant experience from onboarding to retention.
• Own and execute growth levers such as catalogue quality, photography, advertising and merchant campaigns.
• Monitor portfolio performance, reduce churn and enforce compliance standards.
• Recruit, train and motivate a team of top‑performers to meet ambitious growth targets.
• Collaborate with the General Manager to define the long‑term roadmap for Merchant Operations in Germany.
• Lead projects and process improvements that increase operational efficiency and scalability.
• Coordinate cross‑functional initiatives with Sales, Account Management, Support, Procurement, Product and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Finance or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in a comparable role within a fast‑growing e‑commerce environment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience managing and developing teams.
• Proven ability to plan and track progress using OKRs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in German and English.
• Strong analytical mindset and high proficiency in Excel.
