Materials Scientist – Remote Part‑time QA Reviewer

About the role

We are looking for a Materials Scientist to work remotely on a short‑term, part‑time contract reviewing STEM problem prompts and model outputs for an AI research lab. The role involves independent verification of graduate‑level materials engineering solutions and providing detailed feedback to improve training data.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate STEM problem prompts and verify golden answers for accuracy and clarity.
• Assess grading methodology and ensure robustness of evaluation criteria.
• Analyze and summarize model agent trajectories for best and worst rollouts.
• Provide structured feedback using standardized review forms.
• Render Accept/Revise/Reject verdicts with detailed explanations.
• Select problems within your domain expertise and work independently on the HFI (Surveyor) platform.

Required profile

• MS or PhD in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Ability to independently verify ground‑truth solutions for graduate‑level materials problems.
• Strong scientific reasoning and written communication skills.

What we offer

• Compensation of $90 per hour.
• Fully remote work.
• Short‑term 3‑week engagement (June 5 – June 25).
• Flexible schedule: approximately 2‑4 hours per review, 2.5 reviews per week.
