MCP Engineer & AI Backend Engineer (Remote)

About the role

This position sits at the intersection of backend engineering, AI systems, and modern cloud infrastructure. You will design and build MCP‑based services and AI‑powered backend systems that support internal teams and production workflows, working fully remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain MCP servers and integrations that enable reliable communication between AI agents and backend services.
• Build scalable backend APIs using TypeScript and Node.js with frameworks such as Hono, Fastify, NestJS, or Next.js.
• Deploy serverless/edge solutions on Cloudflare Workers and related services (KV, Durable Objects, Queues, R2, D1).
• Create and optimize AI‑driven workflows, including prompt design, tool definitions, and LLM integrations.
• Implement automation flows and service‑to‑service integrations with a focus on reliability, observability, and maintainability.
• Debug and improve system behavior across MCP infrastructure, backend services, and AI workflows.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js in backend development.
• Proven ability to build REST APIs, backend services, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with serverless or edge environments, preferably Cloudflare Workers.
• Solid understanding of API design, authentication, logging, error handling, and observability.
• Hands‑on experience integrating services and building automation or internal tools.
• Interest or experience in AI systems, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
• High ownership mindset and comfort working independently in fast‑moving environments.
