Mechanical Engineer – Construction Projects

About the role

Mercury is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Frankfurt team and support the delivery of complex construction projects across multiple sectors. You will be responsible for overseeing mechanical systems, coordinating with key stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage mechanical systems under your control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support engineering requirements by liaising with client design teams, main contractors, suppliers, and sub‑contractors.
• Review design and IFC specifications and drawings to fully understand project scope.
• Oversee the coordination process, converting design information into installation drawings with BIM personnel.
• Generate and manage Requests for Information (RFI) and technical queries.
• Manage site safety in collaboration with the Project Manager and Safety Advisor, including setup and closure of the safety file.
• Manage site quality assurance with the QA Manager, ensuring compliance with the project QA plan.
• Coordinate project schedule activities, ensuring engineering tasks do not impact procurement or overall timeline.
• Supervise sub‑contractor activities, track progress against schedule, and ensure proper information flow.
• Ensure all works are installed according to project specifications and relevant standards.
