Mechanical Engineer – Data Centre (Relocate to Frankfurt)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to join a global consultancy and lead data‑centre mechanical design in Frankfurt, Europe’s leading data‑centre hub. The role combines technical authority with client‑facing responsibilities, offering a unique chance to shape high‑availability infrastructure on large‑scale projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and delivery of mission‑critical data‑centre projects, including cooling, HVAC and ventilation systems.
• Provide technical guidance and decision‑making across multidisciplinary teams in the UK and Germany.
• Act as the senior technical point of contact for clients, ensuring clarity and confidence throughout design and construction phases.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
• Integrate UK best practices with German engineering standards to meet project requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in data‑centre or mission‑critical mechanical design within the UK or EU consulting market.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex building‑services projects.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients.
• Willingness to relocate to Frankfurt (relocation support provided).
