Mechanical Engineer – Data Centres (Relocate to Frankfurt)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineering professional to join a global consultancy and lead the design of data‑centre and mission‑critical projects in Frankfurt, Europe’s premier data‑centre hub.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for data‑centre and mission‑critical projects in Frankfurt.
• Develop advanced cooling, HVAC and ventilation solutions ensuring high‑availability operation.
• Provide technical authority and act as senior point of contact for clients throughout design and delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across global offices, integrating UK best practice with German standards.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers while expanding own commercial expertise.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical building services for data‑centres or mission‑critical infrastructure.
• Background in UK or EU consulting engineering market.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Willingness to relocate to Frankfurt (relocation support provided).
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients.

Required skills

• Mechanical design of cooling and HVAC systems.
• Design of resilient, redundant mechanical TGA systems.
• Ventilation strategy development for continuous‑operation environments.
• Experience with performance‑driven mechanical engineering.
