Mechanical Engineer – Helicopter Maintenance Design

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Design Office within the Maintenance and Ground Operations department. Based in Donauwörth, you will support the development of helicopter prototype maintenance programs and address in‑service major incidents across civil and military platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain design office prototype maintenance instructions and technical notes.
• Coordinate updates to prototype maintenance documentation and ensure compliance with the BlueSky policy.
• Act as the liaison between the design office, prototype flight crew, and prototype shop.
• Investigate maintenance‑related incidents and support major incident treatment activities.
• Analyse maintenance procedures, organise validation tests, and contribute to the aviation safety roadmap.
• Perform maintainability, ergonomic and human‑factors analyses to reduce errors and improve accessibility.
• Influence system design to meet maintenance policies and propose alternative solutions.
