Mechanical Engineering – Data Centres (Relocation to Frankfurt)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a leading global consultancy and relocate to Frankfurt, Europe’s premier data‑centre hub. You will provide technical authority on high‑availability mechanical systems for mission‑critical data‑centre projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex mechanical building‑services solutions, including cooling, HVAC and ventilation strategies.
• Act as the senior technical point of contact for clients, ensuring clarity and confidence throughout design and construction phases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across global offices, blending UK best practice with German engineering standards.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering technical and commercial growth.
• Support relocation logistics and integration into the Frankfurt office.

Required profile

• Strong background in data‑centre or mission‑critical mechanical design (cooling, HVAC, resilience, redundancy).
• Proven experience leading large‑scale mechanical building‑services projects.
• Excellent understanding of mechanical TGA systems and performance‑driven design.
• Experience working in the UK or EU consulting engineering market.
• Willingness to relocate to Frankfurt, Germany (relocation support provided).
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients.
• German language skills are advantageous but not mandatory at start.
