Mechanical & Product Design Engineer

About the role

Corinex is looking for an experienced Mechanical & Product Design Engineer to lead the design and industrialisation of hardware products for energy and smart‑grid applications. The role will be based in Mannheim and will involve close collaboration with electrical, manufacturing and product teams to bring concepts to production‑ready hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, enclosures and assemblies from concept through to series production.
• Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation using SolidWorks.
• Develop solutions for PCB integration, connectors, cabling, thermal management and structural integrity.
• Support material selection, tolerance analysis, prototyping, testing, verification and validation.
• Conduct DFM/DFA reviews and manage the transition from prototype to serial production.
• Work with suppliers on tooling, materials, quality and engineering changes.
• Maintain drawings, BOMs, specifications and engineering change records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Several years of experience in mechanical design, product development or hardware engineering.
• Strong experience designing electromechanical products that include PCBs, connectors or cabling.
• Professional proficiency in English; German language strongly preferred.
