Mid-Level Backend Software Engineer (Python)

About the role

Granular is seeking a mid-level backend software engineer to build and enhance the core services of its climate-tech SaaS platform. You will work on a sophisticated optimisation engine that matches green energy generation with consumption while handling financial risk. The role is remote-first, with optional access to the London office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and release new backend functionality for the Granular Energy Platform.
• Implement and maintain RESTful APIs that expose optimisation and risk-management services.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to define and shape new features.
• Contribute to improving development processes, code quality, and team culture.

Required profile

• 3-6 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong command of a high-level language (Python preferred) and willingness to work primarily in Python.
• Experience with cloud-native infrastructure (Kubernetes, Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Fluent English communication and ability to thrive in a fast-moving startup environment.
