Multiple Aerospace Professorships (W2/W3) at TUM

About the role

The Technical University of Munich invites applications for four faculty positions in Aerospace at the Department of Aerospace and Geodesy. Positions are open at all career levels – W2 tenure‑track assistant professor (with progression to W3), tenured W3, associate or full professor – and will start in the winter semester 2027/28.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research in one of the specified areas (quantum space technologies – optical, payload systems, space applications, aerospace cyber‑security).
• Develop and lead research groups, obtain external funding, and publish internationally recognised results.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise bachelor, master and doctoral students.
• Contribute to departmental service, promote early‑career scientists and foster interdisciplinary collaborations.

Required profile

• Outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification.
• Internationally recognised research record appropriate to the advertised level.
• Proven teaching experience and pedagogical aptitude.
• Substantial research experience abroad.
