Postdoc in NMR Data Science

About the role

The Spectroscopy & Polymer Analytics team at BASF seeks a postdoctoral researcher to develop innovative digital solutions for NMR data analysis and to create machine‑learning models for complex spectroscopic data. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary partners, expand the digital portfolio, and contribute to research proposals and scientific publications.

Key responsibilities

• Support interdisciplinary projects and develop digital solutions for spectroscopic challenges, especially NMR data analysis.
• Design, implement, and validate machine‑learning models for complex spectroscopic datasets.
• Continuously expand and improve BASF’s digital analytics portfolio.
• Prepare research proposals and author scientific publications.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Chemistry, Analytics or a related discipline.
• Several years of experience building data pipelines, data architectures, and AI models.
• Advanced knowledge of IR or NMR method development; pulse‑sequence programming is a plus.
• Fluent in German and English, strong project‑management abilities, and a data‑driven mindset.
